I am trained and certified to make your spray tan exactly what you expect. From answering questions about the process to making you feel comfortable during your spray tanning process - feel confident that you're on your way to radiance.
This will give an extra boost to your skin health and hydration - again resulting in a longer lasting, smoother tan.
Do this at least 8 hours prior to your spray with a razor that does not have a moisturizing strip. This could cause the tan to develop patchy under arms and on legs especially.
By exfoliating your entire body with a dry body brush or exfoliating mitt in the shower, you will remove any dead skin which will make your tan go on better and last longer.
everything you need to know from start to finish
DO NOT apply any deodorant, makeup, lotions, fragrance, oils or skincare. Coming to your appointment with clean, fresh skin will result in the best tan!
Bar soap (like DOVE) or oily soap tends to leave residue that can impair the spray tan development. Clear, natural body wash is best.
If washing your hair it’s a good idea to do a quick exfoliation afterwards to rid of any left over residue.
If being sprayed at home opt for a robe! Avoid drawstrings, ball caps, tight fitting pants/leggings, rough fabric or anything that will make you sweat. Skip the bra!
Remove any makeup or deodorant etc (if you did apply)
Pull hair away from face and neck. Secure with hair tie. Remove any jewelry.
It is recommended you apply chapstick to your lips.
Follow all instructions for setting time and when to rinse!
I want you to feel as comfortable as possible during our 30 minutes together! It’s completely up to you! Keep in mind - I can only spray exposed areas. Be mindful of cleavage lines or exposed tan lines when choosing what to wear.
While I do recommend darker clothing just remember the solution is water based and will rinse out when washed! Silk is the only exception.
Your tan needs to fully set. The longer you set the tan the darker it may appear. DO NOT judge your color by this! What you see is the bronzer setting as your tan develops. You will only be as dark as the Aviva color percentage I put on you
When your spray tan is complete you will look tan! However, the color you initially see is a bronzer. The DHA that actually tans your skin is clear and will start to develop over the next 12 hours
That means no makeup, skincare, deodorant, lotions or anything to your skin.
DO NOT touch your tan to see how it’s developing. Be mindful of inner thighs and other areas that can rub. Ask me about the finishing powder service to help minimize this!
Avoid anything that will get your spray tan wet (rain, crying, washing hands, dishes, exercise, doggy kisses, spilling drinks)
Apply moisturizer after anything that will dry out your skin including exercise, ocean water, hot tub, pool.
Use a spray tan safe (water based) moisturizer twice daily (available for purchase). Avoid bar soaps like DOVE or OLAY or anything with mineral oils. Opt for moisturizing body wash such as Aveeno or Cetaphil.
DO NOT USE SOAP OR SHAMPOO ON INITIAL RINSE!! You will see the bronzer come off during this rinse. Pat skin dry- don’t rub!
You can use DHA infused moisturizer or tanning drops at night to extend the life of your tan (if you’d like to purchase let me know!)
Spraying perfume directly on skin. Instead spray on your clothes.
Hot tubs, chlorine, salt water. These will shorten the life of your tan.
Aerosol sunscreen. Opt for lotion or cream base instead
Massages, mani-pedi, long showers, exfoliating
With proper care your tan should last 7-10 days
